The Bridal Event

We were delighted to be a part of the Bridal Event hosted at the Murphysboro Event Center Sunday. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was the former Elks Lodge. Built in 1919, the building is a beautiful old place, designed in the Classical Revival Style by Rudolph Z. Gill. Amidst the buildings treasures is a lovely, vast ballroom on the second floor. We were fortunate to host our booth on this floor, along with other fabulous vendors with a prime viewing of the afternoon's fashion show, featuring lovely new bridal attire. Judging by the shows offerings, the 2010 wedding season will not disappoint! Located between two fabulous tuxedo and gown specialists, we spent the afternoon meeting recently engaged couples and discussing their wedding planning needs. Our booth's theme this year was based around lavender, rose and cream with a bit of green to ground the color scheme. Crystals, candles and up lighting adorned the floral arrangements. The lovely "amnesia" rose was a highlight, with its outer petals washed in a soft green and the centers being a lavender, brownish tint, quite extraordinary! These flowers would be perfect for a vintage chic or modern wedding, with the "bling" factor being a major player. We added crystal strands finished with teardrops and illuminated bases to spotlight the reception centerpiece. A hand tied bridal bouquet of amnesia roses with a plum ribbon wrap was also part of the display, accompanied by a matching boutonniere. We also featured a pomander sphere of creamy white carnations, which has become a favorite in the wedding flower market.

Styling the booth was a precursor to the wedding season to come. So many color schemes and styles...we can't wait to hear about the proposal, and chat about your design style!

Call today for an initial consultation to discuss the details of your wedding. We look forward to hearing from you!
